About the Author(s)
Michael Herzfeld is Professor of Anthropology at Harvard University. He is the recipient of numerous grants, prizes, and awards and has lectured and taught at universities around the world. Herzfeld is former editor of
American Ethnologist. His past fieldwork has focused on Greece, and he is currently researching gentrification and management of the past in Thailand.
